Terry A. Kunkler, age 68, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at his home.
He was born on May 28, 1957, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Theodore and Martha (Frantz) Kunkler.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Dick Garland; his father and mother-in-law, Vincent and Marjorie (Lange) Schoenherr; and his brother-in-law, Dan Dahlinghaus.
Terry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan M. Kunkler, whom he married on July 9, 1977, his children, Jeremy (Beth) Kunkler of Fort Recovery, Aaron (Lyndsia) Kunkler of Celina, and Ann (fiancé, Joey Overmyer) Kunkler of Lima, Ohio; his grandchildren, Zander, Kennedy, Gavin (fiancé, Molly), Clayton, Owen, Conlan, Odin, Landon, and Lennon; his great granddaughter, Iris, with one great grandchild on the way; his siblings, Linda Mackey of Anderson, Indiana, Sharon (Fred) Ranly of St. Henry, Michelle (Andrew) Cordonnier of Mason, Sandy (Fred) Schmitmeyer of Coldwater, Patrick (Julie) Kunkler of Crecent Springs, Kentucky, and Danny Garland and Ronnie Garland, both of South Carolina; his in-laws, Mary Dahlinghaus of Portland, Mark Schoenherr of Fort Recovery, Gary (Vickee) Schoenherr of Portland, Becky (Glen) Merry of St. Henry, Bev (Jeff) Abels of St. Henry, Angie (Marty) Tomlinson of Elberta, Alabama, Tina (Monte) Huntsman of Portland, Nettie (Kevin) Thieman of Huntsville, Ohio, Eric (Jan) Schoenherr of Coldwater, Kyle (Kathy) Schoenherr of Vandalia, Ohio, Kim (Jason) Zeigler of Coldwater, and Heidi (Mark) Williams of Sydney, Australia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Terry attended St. Henry High School. He spent most of his working years as a truck driver and retired from Cheeseman Trucking. He was proud of his work and the many miles he traveled over the years.
Terry was a social member of the Celina American Legion. In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and good music. He never knew a stranger and could easily start a conversation with anyone. Most of all, Terry loved his family. He enjoyed teasing and haggling them from time to time, always in good fun, and treasured the time they spent together.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
There will be no visitation prior to Mass.
