Sheryl L. Muhlenkamp

Sheryl Lynn Muhlenkamp, age 56, of rural Portland, Indiana, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Persimmon Ridge Rehab in Portland.

She was born on May 27, 1968, in Portland, to the late Alvin and Dolores (Kuess) Muhlenkamp.

Sheryl is survived by her siblings, Sharon Muhlenkamp of Portland, Luke (Mary Sue) Muhlenkamp of Portland, Allen (Theresa) Muhlenkamp of Portland, Shirley (Gary) Heitkamp of Bryant, Sandy (Mike) Shannon of Bryant, Susan (Wade) Kohler of Portland, Earl (Carrie) Muhlenkamp of Portland, and Sheila Brunswick of Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

As a proud graduate of Jay County High School, Sheryl dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bryant, where she participated in the Altar Rosary Sodality, reflecting her deep faith and commitment to service. 

Sheryl found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to challenge her mind with puzzles and crossword searches and often spent peaceful afternoons coloring with her collection of colored pencils. Her vibrant spirit and gentle heart will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 AM, Friday, May 9, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, with Father Peter Logsdon celebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Holy Trinity School House.

Flowers and gifts may be delivered to the funeral home in Fort Recovery by Thursday evening. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Altar Rosary Sodality at Holy Trinity.
