Roman N. Fullenkamp

Roman N. Fullenkamp, age 82, of Bryant, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, Ohio.

He was born on April 12, 1944, in Fort Recovery, to the late Hugo and Matilda (Keller) Fullenkamp.

In addition to his parents, Romie was preceded in death by his siblings, Martin Fullenkamp, Loren Fullenkamp, Madonna Sinks, and Ruth Wendel; his in-laws, Herman Sudhoff, George Bruns, Ernest Meyer, Richard (Janet) Braun, Leon Brunswick, and Kathy Highley.

Romie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene (Braun) Fullenkamp, whom he married on August 28, 1971; his children, Steve (Mindy) Fullenkamp of Bryant, Chris (Cathy) Fullenkamp of Celina, Nick Fullenkamp of Carmel, Indiana, Eric (Crystal) Fullenkamp of Bryant, and Jeff (Tiff) Fullenkamp of Decatur; his 10 grandchildren, Nathan, Carly, Bridget, Blake, Ava, Stetson, Brooks, Sawyer, Ella, and Braxton; his siblings, Ralph (Kate) Fullenkamp of Fort Recovery, Ann (Ken) Brunswick of Bryant, Luke (Sharol) Fullenkamp of Portland, Eileen (Don) Hoying of Greenville, Karen (Les) Berning of Sidney, Matt (Deb) Fullenkamp of St. Henry, and Sylvia (Matt) Stammen of Coldwater; his brother-in-law, Dale Wendel of Coldwater; his in-laws, Dorothy Sudhoff, Rosemary Bruns, Betty Meyer, Ruth Brunswick, Richard Highley, and Karen (Paul) Boeke.

Romie served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable service, he returned home and began a 36-year career at New Idea in Coldwater, Ohio. During his time there, he worked as a welder for 25 years and spent 11 years in the experimental department before the plant closed in 2000.

Outside of work, Romie was a grain farmer who truly loved working the land. He also had a natural talent for fixing and tinkering with just about anything. His shop was one of his favorite places to be, and if something was broken, there was a good chance Romie could fix it. He especially enjoyed restoring old tractors and working on hit-and-miss engines. You could often find him sitting on his stool in front of his toolbox.

Above all, Romie treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing with them and making memories together. Romie was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bryant and the St. Joseph's Men's Sodality.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, with Father Peter Logsdon celebrating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in the church cemetery.

Guests may visit with his family on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
