Robert "Bob" August Post, age 80, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
He was born on September 24, 1945, to the late Ray and Adele (Koesters) Post. Bob lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Post, and brothers in-law, Richard Dirksen and Chas Wenning.
Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Roseann Post, whom he married on January 28, 1967. Together they built a strong and enduring marriage filled with love and dedication. He was a proud father to Deb (Ron) Kaiser, Diane (Kevin) Sudhoff, Janel (Bill) Schoenherr, Lisa (Scott) Grieshop, and Steve (Jenny) Post. Bob's legacy continues through his 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren with 6 on the way, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
He is also survived by his siblings: Margie Dirksen, Ernie Post, Marvin (Pat) Post, Joyce (Al) Roach, Mark (Judy) Post, Vic (Sharon) Post, Karen Post, Connie (Bob) Rose, his in-laws Don Muhlenkamp, Kathy (Bill) Koesters, Jane (Bob) Tobe, Pat (Don) Uhlenhake, Charlie (Linda) Muhlenkamp, Mike (Rita) Muhlenkamp, Dave Muhlenkamp, Den (Nancy) Muhlenkamp, Jerry (Cathy) Muhlenkamp, Mary (Joe) Barga, Eileen (Chris) Brackman along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
Bob was a man of strong faith and community involvement. He was a proud member of the St. Joseph Men's Sodality and Coldwater Eagles. Bob was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was an adult mass server. He cherished the friendships he made through these organizations and valued the sense of fellowship they provided.
In his free time, Bob enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing cards, often sharing laughs and stories around the table. Bob was a carpenter for many years starting his own business and a lifelong farmer. He found great enjoyment in woodworking, fishing, gardening, and trap shooting, activities that reflected his appreciation for the outdoors.
Bob will be remembered for his kindness, orneriness, his strong work ethic, his devotion to his family, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Guests may visit with his family on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Thursday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will be held Wednesday evening starting at 6:45 PM.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Mercer County Cancer Society and Everheart Hospice.
