Marie Ann Swiger

Marie Ann (Beheydt) Swiger, age 79, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Mercer Health in Coldwater, Ohio.

She was born on August 13, 1946, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to the late Robert E. and Sylvia (Kaufman) Beheydt.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her son, Thomas L. Swiger II; and her brothers, Max Beheydt and James "Jim" Beheydt.

Marie is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Thomas L. Swiger, whom she married on November 24, 1965; and her daughter and son-in-law, Rene and John Lavely, Jr. of Middletown, Ohio.

Marie was a 1964 graduate of Chippewa High School in Wadswoth. The following year, she married her husband, Thomas, and began this journey of life. She spent a majority of her years as a homemaker, caring for her family. In her late 40s, she attended Eidson Community College alongside her daughter and graduated with an associate's degree. Marie also worked for Fort Recovery Industries for a few years and as a dispatcher for several trucking companies.

Marie was quite the crafter. She enjoyed preserving her family memories through scrapbooks and created many homemade cards for her family and friends to enjoy. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also loved her animals and had several pets which she cherished. Marie was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
