Leon G. Homan, 91, of Coldwater, Ohio, passed away peacefully during the early hours of Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Gardens at St. Henry.

He was born on April 12, 1930, in Mercer County to the late Edward and Catherine (Wendel) Homan.

In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Richard Green; his great grandson, Hayden Schwieterman; his siblings, Wilbur (Mary Ann) Homan, Othmar "Ott" (Rita) Homan, Ernest (Jeanette) Homan, and Anthony Homan; his brothers-in-law, Ron Barna, Ted Gentry and George Schroyer; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and Florence (Freund) Schindler; and his in-laws, Margaret (Frank) Kaiser, Pauline (Donald) Miller, Emilda (Clyde) Gerber, Betty (Glen) Grief, Ruth (Jim) Knapke, Ervin (Thelma) Schindler, Maurice Grieshop, and Orville Wendel.

Leon worked for Matt Schwieterman, Inc. in Coldwater as a backhoe operator for over 50 years. After his retirement, he went to work for Henry Timmerman for several years until his health declined. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed being outdoors tending to his crops and garden. Leon was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He had a strong prayer life and would say several rosaries each day. Leon loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of the Coldwater Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Foresters, and the Men's Society of the Church.

Leon is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ladonna "Donna" (Schindler) Homan, whom he married on August 12, 1950; his children, Patricia Green of Coldwater, Donald (Rebecca) Homan of Coldwater, Kenneth (Barbara) Homan of Bryant, IN, Mary (William) Bruggeman of Celina, Ronald (Anita) Homan of Bryant, IN, Lucy (James) Schwieterman of Coldwater, and Charles (Marcia) Homan of Coldwater; his 29 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; his siblings, Ralph (Barbara) Homan of Inverness, FL, Lavern (Mary) Homan of Coldwater, Daniel (Linda) Homan of Ohio City, Ohio, Lucille Barna of Rockford, Margaret Gentry of Celina, and Marie Schroyer of Celina; his sisters-in-law, Judy Homan of Fort Recovery, and Jane (Bill) Boeckman of Coldwater; and his in-laws, Jeanette Grieshop of Fort Recovery and Joann Wendel of Portland, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 27, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 471 St. Anthony Road, Fort Recovery, Ohio 45846. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Guests may visit with Leon's family on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
