Joseph W. Schoenherr, 87, Coldwater, OH, died August 24, 2013 at Briarwood Village Nursing Home, Coldwater, OH.
He was born November 24, 1925, in Maria Stein, OH, to the late Aloysious Schoenherr and the late Cleopha (Boeke) . On June 17, 1950, he married Joan ((Jutte)) Schoenherr, who survives.
Also surviving are 6 sons, Ken (Connie) Schoenherr of Fort Recovery, OH, Don (Karen) Schoenherr of Coldwater, OH, Joe (Sandy) Schoenherr of Coldwater, OH, Matt (Linda) Schoenherr of Fort Recovery, OH, Karl (Barb) Schoenherr of Fort Recovery, OH, Bill (Janel) Schoenherr of Coldwater, OH; 2 daughters, Pat (Jim) Brockman of Fort Recovery, OH and Nancy (Craig) Heckman of Osgood, OH; 2 sisters, Irene Fullenkamp of Portland, IN and Rose Ann (Richard) Post of Celina, OH; a brother, Vince (Marjorie) Schoenherr of Fort Recovery, OH; 27 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 sister-in-laws, Roseann Schoenherr of St. Paul, MN and Roberta Schoenherr of Oden, Utah;
Deceased are three infant children, James,Gerald and Mary; his brothers, Alvin Schoenherr, Roman Schoenherr, Louis Schoenherr, Victor Schoenherr; his sisters, Imelda Heckman, Anna Post, and Marita Schoenherr, and 3 grandchildren,
He was employed at farmer and retired from the former New Idea, Coldwater, OH
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 345, Fort Recovery, Catholic Knights of St. Joe, OH and Holy Name Society of the St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, Ohio. .
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, Ohio, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, St. Peter, Ohio. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion.
Calling is 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am - 9:45 am Wednesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
