After returning home, Jerry began a dedicated 38-year career with the Union City Body Company, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.
In his free time, Jerry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time fishing, tinkering with small engines, working in his garden, and raising a variety of animals over the years. Jerry also took an interest in flying remote control airplanes, although he often joked that after one crash it became a very expensive hobby.
Jerry was a proud member of UAW Local 494, the Fort Recovery VFW, the Union City Eagles, and the American Legion. Above all, Jerry will be remembered for his generous and giving heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and found great joy in helping others whenever he could.
