Donald J. Homan , 78, Burkettsville, Ohio, died on April 20, 2012, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born April 7, 1934, in St. Anthony, OH, to the late Theodore H. Homan and the late Catharine Anna Knoth. On November 26, 1960, he married the late Rosamary (Holscher) Homan, who died March 31, 2012.
Surviving are three daughters - Cathy (Tom) Lennartz of Fort Recovery, OH, Clara (Jeff) Knittle of Portland, IN, and Mary (Mike) Westgerdes of North Star, OH; four sons - Dave (Deb) Homan of Fort Recovery, OH, Rich Homan of Portland, IN, Steve (Carrie) Homan of Fort Recovery, OH, and Dana Homan of Fort Recovery, OH; sister - Jeanette Osterholt of Ft. Wayne, IN; 22 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws - Mary Lou Homan of St. Anthony, OH, and Rosalie Homan of Coldwater, OH.
Deceased are a son, Louis Homan, a granddaughter, Rachel Brackman, two brothers, Dallas Homan and Harold Homan, and a brother-in-law, Herman Osterholt.
He was employed at the former St. Clair Mills, Fort Recovery, B.J. Kaisers Trucking, Burkettsville, Ohio, he also provided transportation for several Amish crews, and was retired from farming.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, Coldwater, Ohio, a life time member of the Progressive Sportsmans Club, Fort Recovery, Ohio and St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio.
Funeral mass is 10:30 am, Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio, the Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at St. Paul Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Ohio.
Calling is 2:00-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
