Donald “Sudsy” Lee Clott, age 88, of Portland, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Bethel Pointe Health and Rehab in Muncie, Indiana.
He was born on January 27, 1938, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Hobart and Mildred (Wilhelm) Clott.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Fiely) Clott, whom he married on December 27, 1990; his first wife, Virginia (Barger) Clott; and his brother Steve (Linda) Clott.
Donald is survived by his children, Gregory (Irina) Clott of Naples, Italy, Paula (David) Moser of Portland, Indiana, and Mindy Farlow of Cape Coral, Florida; his 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald was a 1956 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. He worked for Teledyne Portland Forge until his retirement in 2000. Alongside his full-time career, Donald continued to farm his family’s farm for many years, a responsibility he took great pride in.
In September of 1961, Donald was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country until his honorable discharge in September of 1963.
Donald was a social butterfly and enjoyed being around people. He was a member of the Fort Recovery VFW, Fort Recovery American Legion, Celina Moose Lodge, Portland Elks Lodge, Versailles Eagles, and the Ohio Progressive Sportsman Club. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Recovery, where he and his first wife were married.
In his free time, Donald enjoyed racing, especially NASCAR, and was an avid football fan. He could often be found watching western television shows and movies, as well as one of his favorite shows, MASH.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, with Chaplain Mark Schlechty officiating. Full military honors will follow in Springhill Cemetery, where Patricia and Donald will be laid to rest together.
Guests may visit with Donald’s family on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
