David S. Schmitt , 62, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died February 5, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, OH.
He was born March 11, 1949, in Celina, OH, to the late Joseph Schmitt and the late Beatrice Lauber . On June 11, 1988, he married Vivian Thobe, who survives.

He was a 1967 graduate of Campion Jesuit High School, Prairie Duchien, WI and a 1972 graduate of Xaxier University, Cincinnati, OH, with a B.S.B.A. degree.
Along with his wife, he owned and operated Schmitt Fur Farm, Fort Recovery, Ohio
He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge, Celina, Ohio and Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
Funeral mass is 10:30 am, Thursday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Wednesday and 9:00 am-10:00 am Thursday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
