Cletus W. Schmitz, 78, 401 Lewis Ave., St. Henry, formerly of New Weston, OH, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at his farm in rural New Weston, Ohio.
He was born August 29, 1931, in North Orben, Ohio, to the late George H. Schmitz and the late Blanche M. Fisher. He married Agnes (Kramer) on May 21, 1955 and she passed away on April 11, 1993. On October 28, 1995, he married Delores (Kremer) Abels, who survives.

Deceased are 3 brothers, Edgar, Paul & Robert; 1 sister, Rita Boeckman.
He retired from Union City Body Company, Union City, IN and was a retired farmer.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a Past Grand Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3324, Fort Recovery. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 345, Fort Recovery, in which he served on it's military honor guard and the 4th Degree St. Gasper Del Bufalo Assembly, Minster, Ohio. He served as a volunteer at Briarwood Village, the Gardens in St. Henry, and the Mercer County Council on Aging. He was also a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, in which he served as lay distributor and mass server. Services are 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, Ohio, the Rev. Benedict Magabe, officiating. Burial is at St. Paul Cemetery, Sharpsburg, OH. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
