Betty L. Jutte, 85, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on June 18, 2016, at The Gardens at St. Henry, St. Henry, Ohio.
She was born March 18, 1931, in Burkettsville, OH, to the late Ernest and Lena (Pottkotter) Hemmelgarn. On November 25, 1954 in Frenchtown, OH, she married the late Julius Jutte, who died August 22, 2015.
Surviving are their eleven children, Victoria (Gary) Westgerdes of Celina, OH, Janet (Jerry) Hemmelgarn of St. Henry, OH, Linda (Ed) Daniel of Fort Loramie, OH, Sharon (Randy) Geier of Coldwater, OH, Chris (Angie) Jutte of Papua, Indonesia, Tony (Anita) Jutte of Fort Recovery, OH, Kathy (Dave) Keller of Fort Recovery, OH, Marty (Mary) Jutte of Portland, IN, Larry (Jean) Jutte of Coldwater, OH, Greg (Jennie) Jutte of Fort Recovery, OH, Rick (Missie) Jutte of Fort Recovery, OH; a brother, Jerry (Norma) Hemmelgarn of Versailles, OH; a sister, Ruth (Bob) Bettinger of Apollo Beach, FL; 39 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Lavern Vagedes of Coldwater, OH; a sister-in-law, Betty Jutte of Versailles, OH; in-laws, Mark (Thelma) Jutte of Fort Recovery, OH, Aloys Jutte of Yorkshire, OH, August (Betty) Jutte of St. Henry, OH, Zeno Jutte of St. Henry, OH, and Leonard (Betty) Jutte of Rockford, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are one grandchild, her siblings and their spouses, Ernest (Helen) Hemmelgarn, Marceil (John) Meyer, Bernice (Harry) Frilling and Jean Ann Hemmelgarn, her in-laws Paul (Rita) Jutte, Luke Jutte, Esther (Bill) Keller, Mary (Ed) Nieberding, Luella (Delbert) Barga, Helen Vagedes, Joan (Joe) Schoenherr, Addy Hess, Betty Mae Jutte and Carl Jutte.
Betty was a 1949 graduate of Versailles High School, Versailles, Ohio and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Henry, Ohio. She was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, and belonged to the church's Christian Mothers' Sodality.
Betty enjoyed gardening, dancing and playing cards. She especially treasured time spent with her family and friends. Betty always put others before herself.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Wednesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
