Arlene R. Fortkamp, 72, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on March 31, 2012, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born April 30, 1939, in Yorkshire, OH, to the late Aloys Poeppelman and the late Helen Geier. On November 9, 1960, she married the late Henry Fortkamp Jr., who died March 31, 2012.
Surviving are 3 daughters - Cheryl (John) Rammel of Fort Recovery, OH, Christine (Tom) Remaklus of Fort Recovery, OH, Norma (Ron) Sudhoff of Coldwater, OH; 2 sons - Kevin (Sharon) Fortkamp of Fort Recovery, OH, Brian (Susie) Fortkamp of Fort Recovery, OH; 3 brothers - Ernest (Virginia) Poeppelman of Yorkshire, OH, Jim (Kay) Poeppelman of Versailles, OH, Joe (Marge) Poeppelman of Dayton, OH; 4 sisters - Ruth (Paul) Brown of Wapakoneta, OH, Elsie (Elmer) Homan of Chickasaw, OH, Janice (Don) Marchal of Versailles, OH, Mary (Gary) Dean of Chicago, IL; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a graduate of Versailles High School, Versailles, Ohio.
She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle 810, Fort Recovery, Ohio, St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg Ohio, and the church's Altar Sodality.
Funeral mass is 10:30 am, Wednesday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Ohio, Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at St. Paul Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Ohio.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Wednesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
A Daughters of Isabella prayer service will be held 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
