Alex Robert Meiring, adoring husband, proud father, loving son and brother, devoted brother and son-in-law, fun-loving uncle, loyal friend, and dedicated co-worker passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 41. Alex, lovingly known as Al, was born on April 2, 1984, to Robert and Karen (Smith) Meiring. He was born and raised along with his two siblings in Fort Recovery, Ohio. Alex loved the Fort Recovery community and is so grateful for the friendships, support and love he received.
After high school, Alex graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. As a freshman at Bowling Green, he met his life companion, his wife Krista. Together they spent 22 wonderful years together with 16 of those being married. After college, the two moved to Dublin, Ohio, to raise their family, Liam (12) and Olivia (10). Alex was extremely proud of his wife and children. He loved cheering on his daughter at cheer competitions and his son when he was playing hockey. Alex always put his family first and was present and involved with every interest and hobby that Krista, Liam and Oliva explored. Together the four of them as a family along with their dog, Kevin, loved exploring new parks, vacation destinations, watching movies and going to Columbus Blue Jackets games.
Al’s incredible sense of humor and movie quotes brought laughter and lightness to any room that he was in. He enjoyed ghost hunting and the paranormal. Alex loved being on the travel channel for a paranormal challenge where they explored Waverly Hills.
Alex worked as the state vice president at Keystone Insurers Group. The support from Keystone was unwavering and a blessing. He was loved by everyone he worked with and loved his work family. Alex truly felt lucky to work with such amazing people.
Alex is survived by his loving and adoring family and friends. To know Alex was to love him. He was an amazing man who fought cancer with unimaginable strength and courage for almost five years. His memory will continue to be a blessing to his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Krista; children Liam and Olivia; mother Karen; siblings Jill (Beth) and Kelly; mother-in-law and father-in-law Kim and Jeff Willett and Mike Bickley and sister-in-law Lindsey Kinman.
