MaryAnn M. Homan, 88, St. Anthony, Ohio, died on August 8, 2016, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born March 22, 1928, in St. Peter, OH, to the late Henry and Anna (Fullenkamp) Gaerke. On May 4, 1957, she married the late Wilbur Homan, who died December 22, 1995.
Surviving are her seven children, Colleen (David) Welling of Bryant, IN, Karen (Gary) Goettemoeller of Celina, OH, Doug (Ellen) Homan of St. Anthony, OH, Rose (Robert) Welling of Bryant, IN, Betty (Ron) Niekamp of Maria Stein, OH, Doris (Jerry) Will Jr. of Maria Stein, OH, Judy Homan of Celina, OH and her fiance, Marion Evers, of Fort Recovery, OH; her three siblings,Virginia Tangeman of Maria Stein, OH, Marcy (Richard) Topp of Dayton, OH, and Charles (Betty) Gaerke of Fort Recovery, OH; 26 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lillian Gaerke-Homan of Coldwater, OH, Dorothy Gaerke of Ft. Recovery, OH, and Janet Gaerke of Fort Recovery, OH; her in-laws, Leon (Ladonna) Homan of Coldwater, OH, Jane (Bill) Boeckman of Coldwater, OH, Lucille Barna of Rockford, OH, Marie Schroyer of Celina, OH, Margaret Gentry of Celina, OH, Daniel (Linda) Homan of Ohio City, OH, Judith Homan of Fort Rcovery, OH, Lavern (Mary) Homan of Coldwater, OH, and Ralph (Barb) Homan of Inverness, FL.
Preceding her in death are her grandchild, Marie Welling; her siblings, Lorine (Maurus) Forthofer, Jerry (Irene) Gaerke, Herbert (Dorothy) Gaerke, Leonard Gaerke, Harold (Eileen) Gaerke, Luella (Walter) Franck, Bernard Gaerke, Virgil (Marilyn) Gaerke and Henry "Hank" Gaerke; sister-in-law, Wilma Gaerke, brothers-in-law, Robert Tangeman and Cletus Homan; in-laws, Ott (Rita) Homan, Ernest (Jeanette) Homan, Anthony Homan, Ronald Barna, George "Junior" Schroyer and Ted Gentry.
MaryAnn was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony, OH and the church's Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Financial Life Chapter 1118, St. Joe, OH.
MaryAnn enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, playing cards and visiting family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Fr. Matthew Feist officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
Calling is 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday and 9:00 am - 9:45 am Friday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
