Leo B. Snider , 86, Greenville, Ohio, formerly of Fort Recovery, Ohio, died December 13, 2011 at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, OH.
He was born April 16, 1925, in Ft. Wayne, IN, to the late John P. Snider and the late Margaret McCue . On October 30, 1948, he married Rose (Fair) Snider, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons - John (Betty) Snider of Chicago, IL and David (Bonnie) Snider of Greenville, OH; 3 daughters - Margaret Snider of Cincinnati, OH, Rebecca (Joel) Mills of Corbin, KY and Cynthia (James) Pratt of Lafayette, IN; sister - Margaret Christman of Fort Wayne, IN; 8 grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild.
Deceased are brothers, John Snider and Thomas Snider; sisters, Sr. Mary Catherine Snider, Sarah Gerke, and Patricia Hawkins.
He was owner-operator of the former Fort Recovery Hardware, Fort Recovery, OH for 41 years.
He served in the Army during WW II. He also served on the Fort Recovery Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3324 and American Legion Post 345, both of Fort Recovery. He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, prior to retiring in Greenville, OH.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 am Monday, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. Fr. Paul Wohlwend, Fr. James Dugal and Fr. Thomas Beischel are officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 1:00 pm-6:00 pm Sunday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio. The American Legion prayer service is 5:45 pm Sunday and a Knights of Columbus prayer service is 5:50 pm Sunday, at the funeral home. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion.
