He was born March 18, 1936, in Celina, OH, to the late Henry Fortkamp Sr. and the late Mary Homan. On November 9, 1960, he married the late Arlene (Poeppelman) Fortkamp, who died March 31, 2012.
Surviving are 3 daughters - Cheryl (John) Rammel of Fort Recovery, OH, Christine (Tom) Remaklus of Fort Recovery, OH, and Norma (Ron) Sudhoff of Coldwater, OH; 2 sons - Kevin (Sharon) Fortkamp of Fort Recovery, OH, and Brian (Susie) Fortkamp of Fort Recovery, OH; 4 sisters - Rita Zehringer of St.Henry, OH, Rosie May of Fort Recovery, OH, Bernice Poling of Coldwater, OH, and Alice (Eugene) Steinke of Wapakoneta, OH; 3 brothers - Vincent (Jean) Fortkamp of Fort Recovery, OH, Lavern (Elaine) Fortkamp of Dayton, OH, and Ralph Fortkamp of Fort Recovery, OH; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Cyril Fortkamp.
He was employed at the former Mersman Brothers, Celina, OH and Fort Recovery Equity.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Coldwater, Ohio and St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio.
Funeral mass is 10:30 am, Wednesday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Ohio, Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at St. Paul Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Ohio.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Wednesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
